Getting back into gear in 2024
I know it's been a while, but I'm trying to get organized and back into all things books and writing.
Starting Fresh
The last few years took me out of the book world. Resetting after a divorce, graduate school, a major career change, and family issues has been difficult, but I’m gearing up to get back on track with writing.
Moving my newsletter to Substack is part of that process. This will allow for easier posting and adds an option to eventually start offering bonus content to subscribers, like short stories, videos, podcasts, and audiobook chapters.
I hope you all enjoy the new format and more frequent updates.
Radio Show: Write On Four Corners
One of my more recent side hustles was taking over as the host of a local radio show, Write On Four Corners. I’ll be sharing links here weekly so my readers can meet some of the fantastic writers I’ve had the chance to meet over the last year or so.
Most recently, Colorado author Laura Pritchett talks about her upcoming book from Torrey House Press, “Playing with (wild)fire,” diving into experimental writing forms and how to create diverse characters.
Summer Workshop
One other exciting development I’m working on is a self-publishing workshop I’ll be holding this summer after receiving a grant to help make it happen. I’ll be taking the knowledge I’ve gained over the years to help aspiring authors launch their books. I’m planning to offer in-person and virtual options, and I’m really excited about putting this all together!
Book News
I know I have several unfinished series, and I’m hoping to get back to them soon. I’ve had a really difficult time getting back into writing. After a lot of changes and challenges over the past few years, I’ve realized that my writing has changed a lot, mostly because my interests and goals have shifted. I’m not completely sure what my next completed project will look like, but I’m trying to get back into a steady writing habit so I can discover where my writing is at and what I want to write.
I hope readers will be patient as I work through that stumbling block. I’ll be writing more regular updates here on what I’m doing and where my writing life is headed. Thank you for all the support over the years!
